The American Library Association is in the midst of this years banned book week. If you visit your local library (and should if for any reason, because too large a library at home makes for tough moving) you should see a fairly common display of books that have got people’s with nothing better to do (or learn) knickers in a twist as they say. But thankfully in today’s tea-bagging bizzarro world, most books make it to the masses.
So what the fuss, why a week of attention? To promote our freedom to read, plain and simple. Don’t leave home without it.
Check out this list of challenged classics and then literally check out the books on it. Aspire to be banned.
Thank you ALA.
